Curly Hair Project Courses in Dorset

The curly hair project (CHP) is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting females with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) and other autism spectrum disorders (ASD).   CHP runs a range of courses to help people on the autism spectrum and families/supporters of adults and children with autism conditions.  They have let us know about the following courses coming up in Dorset that are available to book.

Meltdowns and Shutdowns

Wednesday 4th October 10am-12.30pm

  • What are meltdowns and shutdowns
  • Causes, anticipation and prevention
  • How to help during a meltdown
  • Meltdowns in public places

 

ASD and Socialising

Thursday 16th November, 6.30-9pm

  • The triad of impairments
  • Understanding the individual’s intrinsic capacity and natural desire for socialising
  • Strategies to make social situations easier
  • What difference does it make whether you are an introvert or an extrovert?

 

Location: Durweston Village Hall, Church Road, Blandford Forum, DT11 0QA

Tickets cost: £19.70 for one person, £32.24 for professionals or £41.35 for a family group (3 people)
