Autism alert cards are business style cards that can be carried by someone with autism (including Asperger Syndrome). The card can help explain the condition in basic terms quickly and is useful particularly when a person is anxious.
Eligibility: The cardholder must be over 10 years old, have a diagnosis of an autism spectrum condition and live in Bournemouth, Dorset or Poole.
Autism Wessex has received funding and support for this project from Dorset Police. The card is endorsed by all members of the Pan-Dorset Autism Spectrum Condition Partnership Board.
Autism awareness training for emergency and public services, groups and shops will be delivered across the region.
